Metal Fabrication & Blacksmithing

Metal fabrication involving cutting, heating, forming, shaping, welding and bending metal is our business. We fabricate parts for repairs and restorations, make one-off items and teach blacksmithing, welding and fabrication.

Bespoke Items

In addition to fabricating parts for repairs and restorations, we make one-off, bespoke items, such as metal stands for artists who need their glass, ceramic art and sculptures mounted safely and beautifully. And we even make made-to-measure tools, like glazing tongs for local potters.

You can see many examples of our work below.

Materials

We work with aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, lead, steel and tin.

But we do not work with stainless steel, galvanized or zinc-plated steel.

No Vehicles or Vehicle Parts

We do not work on cars, bikes, motorcycles or their parts, including racks, stands, etc.

Fabrication Projects

This porthole, formerly from a ship, is a window in the bathroom of a home that looks out over the sea. The porthole required new seals, repair, extensive cleaning, and elbow grease!

Creating an Armature for a Sculpture

This beautiful, coated copper Baptismal Ewer from the 1950s came from a church in West Vancouver. The president of the Altar Guild brought it to us, hoping we could repair it. It had a broken cross and a severely scratched front face. Though it had been repaired once before with soft-solder by a jeweller, the repair had not held.

I created a bespoke brass tailpiece and string divider for an elaborate and ornate electric guitar, which had to look as classy as the guitar. My client was happier with the design of this handmade tailpiece than the commercial ones he had seen, which was very gratifying to me.
